Sparks Marina

Berger Devine Yaeger is currently providing Master Planning services for the Sparks Marina Destination Development, located next to the Sparks Marina Lake in Sparks, Nevada. The Project is an exciting Destination Retail Development with a twist that can be described as natural aesthetics of the Nevada High Sierra integrated with the youthful lifestyle dynamic of an urban retail and entertainment district.

Sparks Destination applies the sophisticated use of simple materials with the graphic interchangeability and excitement of a lifestyle walk in an evergreen shopping experience. Bridges cross over the waterway that extends the Marina Lake through the development, connecting the retail shops, restaurants and entertainment, giving a refreshing relief to the outdoor shopping district experience. The shops and restaurants are designed in a playful way, interacting with the water path, allowing for key elements along the way, such as fountains, outdoor fireplaces and themed planting areas. A central signage tower attracts the visitor to the center and creates a focal point. Lighting at night brings the place alive for sunset dining by the water’s edge, or a stroll or boat ride through the center. Enhanced paving, plantings, fun storefronts and roofing make for a dynamic daytime experience. A minor league baseball park is included as the centerpiece of the entertainment district. The project recently received tentative zoning approval, and project design is commencing with an opening date set at spring of 2008. This 1 million SF development has a total project cost of $200 million.
