Overland Park, KS –Berger Devine Yaeger architects officially announced its new corporate headquarters with a ribbon cutting and open house on September 22, 2009.  Mayor Carl Gerlach and Chamber President Tracey Osborne joined Carl Yeager, President, employees and associates to celebrate the event.

The new space, located at 7780 W. 119th street is directly west of Rosana Square Shopping Center and was previously occupied by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  It had been vacant since 2007.  BDY designed the new space and Mark One Electric Co. completed the structure’s renovations and finishing touches.

The new exterior entrance is highlighted with a crescent-shaped entry canopy, a curved floor-to-ceiling window system and extensive landscaping.  A sculptural feature wall draws visitors in with an ever-changing light show while four LCD screens with architectural renderings and finished works slideshows punctuate the path through the space.

The 20,000 square foot office is a colorful, modern feast for the eyes with architectural studio workspaces and storage for five teams of up to 10 people each.   There are two lofts for informal meetings, several hi-tech conference rooms, a library, a full kitchen and dining area, patio, executive offices and space to grow.

BDY Employees Attend Grand Opening

Sparks, Nevada – Patrick Lenahan, Vice President and Justin Luebbering,  Architect, both of Berger Devine Yaeger, attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for The Legends at Sparks Marina, a new destination retail and entertainment development.  Berger Devine Yaeger was the executive architect and master planner for the 125 acre development, and architect of record for several of the development’s buildings.

Leading the ceremonies were Dennis McGovern (general manager of The Legends at Sparks Marina), Dan Lowe (a Managing Partner of RED Development, LLC), Steve Graham (Vice President of Destination Development at RED Development, LLC), Geno Martini (Mayor of Sparks, NV) and members of the Sparks City Council, and Jim Gibbons (Governor of Nevada).  A special presentation was made by Kristina Thomas of the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony, who sang “Flag Song”, and Ralph Burns with the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, who delivered a blessing, both in the Paiute language.

The opening marked the completion of the first phase of the Legends at Sparks Marina and included the opening of various upscale retail stores, restaurants and entertainment venues.  Upon completion of all phases, the entire development will reach 1.5 million square feet of retail and entertainment venues. 

Sculpture and art throughout the development highlight the history and legends of the Northern Nevada region, drawing tourists and locals from Nevada and the surrounding states.

Zung Architecture Merges with Berger Devine Yaeger, Inc.

Zung Architecture merged into the Berger Devine Yaeger team in April 2009. Zung was founded in April 2007 by owner / president Russell Zung and grew to a staff of three architects with licences in Kansas, Missouri and Idaho. With 26 years of combined experience, Zung Architecture's staff and inspiring portfolio is an exciting addition to our team. Please join us in welcoming Russell, Josh and Doug.

Trick or Trot

Triality, a North Kansas City non-profit organization assists adults and children with severe developmental disabilities. Berger Devine Yaeger sponsored a team of walkers with employees and their children and grandchildren and raised over $1000 for their annual 5K run/walk fundraising event.

Race for a Cure

August 10, 2008

Kansas City, MO – Berger Devine Yaeger was one of many companies that sponsored a walking team. The BDY team was a part of 24,000 people walking and running for the fight against breast cancer on August 10, 2008. This is the 15th annual Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure. Race chair Katie Linden estimated the event raised $1.2 million for breast-cancer research and detection.

Prayer for the Cure is an interdenominational prayer service for cancer patients, survivors & their supporters. BDY also donated printing costs to support this event held on Sunday August 10, 2008 at the Sheffield Family Life Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

BDY Employees Attend Ribbon Cutting

Independence, MO – Three new employees of Berger Devine Yaeger, Inc.: Joe Williams, Mike Moores and Jeff Ballantyne attended a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 to celebrate the opening of the new Independence Fire Station #4.

The 2.4 million dollar fire station was designed by WBI Architects, which merged with BDY June 1, 2008. This state-of-the art, three-bay, energy efficient building replaces a one-bay fire station built in the 1950’s. It was designed to accommodate two fire companies and transitions smoothly into the surrounding residential neighborhood.


WBI Architects Merges with Berger Devine Yaeger, Inc.

WBI Architects, a small successful architectural firm from Independence, Missouri has merged with Berger Devine Yaeger, Inc. WBI was founded in February 2002 by owner/president Joe Williams.

In six years, WBI grew to a staff size of five with two licensed architects, two architectural interns and one administrative assistant and served its clientele out of its own remodeled historic building on the Independence Square.

WBI brings a portfolio of successful projects and solid, repeat relationships with many clients to Berger Devine Yaeger. We welcome the new energy and experience WBI brings to the Berger Devine Yaeger team.
