Sacred Heart Parish

Sacred Heart Parish, a congregation rich in history and tradition, had outgrown its existing circa-1880 sanctuary and adjacent facilities. The decision was made to build a new 550-seat sanctuary, a chapel and support space, totaling 20,660 SF, in a developing neighborhood in Warrensburg, MO. Through the use of masonry, stucco and traditional forms, BDY helped the congregation fashion a building that would not only meet their functional and budgetary goals, but also offered a sense of the history and craftsmanship they greatly valued. Extensive site work was required to tame a difficult five-acre site into a graceful setting allowing on-grade access, a daylight basement, parking for 150 cars, and the accommodation for recreational space and future expansion. The total project cost was $2,129,425.
