Kill Creek Park

Kill Creek Park is an 850-acre regional park in Johnson County. The public area includes a new lake that includes a new Marina and Beachhouse. The 1,200 SF Marina provides a place for docking boats and a boat ramp, as well as two boat rental concessions. The 2,000 SF Beachhouse serves all visitors to the lake. A Welcome Center of 4,000 SF provides facilities for Adventure Camp patrons. The Adventure Camp is a secluded, heavily wooded area that includes two existing ponds. Children attending the Camp have opportunities for in-depth nature studies, walks and special classes. The architecture of all the buildings is minimalistic in order to integrate the structures into the landscape. The buildings are designed to be very user friendly, and establish a style to identify all future structures in the Park. The total project cost was $500,000.
